01 / THE BASICS

What is bleed?

When an image or background reaches the edge of your finished print, it needs to extend beyond the trim line. This extra area is called bleed.

Your artwork is printed on a larger sheet and trimmed to its final size. Bleed helps prevent an unwanted white edge when the paper is cut.

Use the templates below to set up your file, and check the file supply guide before sending your artwork. Our team can help if you’re unsure.
